Part 1: A Mystery Waiting to Happen

I’m working on a first person adventure game with a strong theme of exploration, like an FPEG with story and enough gameplay to keep the player occupied for a while. First goal is to get a demo out in the second or third quarter of 2017. I’ve been at it for only around 9 months, so nothing really playable yet. I do have a few things to show, but we’ll get to that. In the meantime, let’s play a game:

Today I went on a short hike to the beach and found someone’s canoe secured near the path. I wonder… but no, they cannot enter this world; I’m pretty sure that is still true. If not, I need to talk to X about it; we never prepared for anything like that.

On my way home, I went another way and found a shooting range, although it looked like it hadn’t been used in a long while. I don’t remember ever including that when we built this world: could things really appear spontaneously like that?
